Founded in 1971, Redwood Empire is one of the premiere Wholesale Lumber companies in Northern California. This family-owned lumber manufacturing and distribution company is headquartered in Morgan Hill, CA and specializes in Redwood, Douglas Fir, Plywood, Cedar, Treated, Pine, and Ipe products.
Redwood Empire has immediate opening for a wholesale sales representative at its Morgan Hill office. We are searching for independent, motivated, self-starters. Prior experience in the lumber industry is preferred, but not required.
Duties Include:
- Maintain existing customer base by providing excellent customer service
- Build customer base by developing relationships with potential new clients
- Introduce and promote new product lines to customer and potential customers
- Provide recommendations and answers customer questions regarding products
- Collaborate with yard, mill, and dispatch teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered promptly
- Represent Redwood Empire at industry networking events
- Provide in-person support to local customer base
- Research area markets and potential areas of growth and present findings to management
- Develop and present sales quotes to clients
- Enter sales orders for processing in ERP system
- Work closely with credit department to onboard new customers
Required qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience working in the lumber or building materials industries
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience using Lumbertrack or similar ERP system
