The City Council consists of seven members and is the governing body elected directly by the residents of Redwood City. As the legislative branch of our local government, the Council makes final decisions on all major city matters and sets City-wide priorities and policies. The Council directs the City Manager to implement these priorities and policies. In 2020, the City Council moved to district-based elections which means City Councilmembers are elected by district instead of at-large voting, where all voters cast their ballots for all candidates in the jurisdiction. The city is a full service city with the departments of Community Development, Engineering & Transportation, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Library, Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Police, and Public Works Services, along with the City Manager's Office, City Clerk's Office, and City Attorney's Office. We're looking for enthusiastic and motivated Program Leader II’s to join our team! In this role, you will: Lead the planning and facilitation of diverse, enriching youth activities Inspire student engagement through health, recreation, and service projects Develop activity calendars and lesson plans that foster growth, learning, and leadership This position will report directly to the Recreation and Community Service Program Coordinator. position, gaining hands-on experience in youth development. This part-time position offers 20–28 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the 2025–2026 school year (August to June, depending on site assignment).
