ABOUT THE POSITION:
Hospitality, Customer Satisfaction and Resident Relations are the most important responsibilities in this very visible position. In this key role, the Activities Coordinator interacts in a very positive, courteous, and friendly manner with all guests, residents, and employees of the community in a variety of ways.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Prepares, plans, and schedules calendar of activities for level- of-care appropriateness within assigned department.
- Encourages Residents to attend activities and builds enthusiasm for programs
- Plans and schedules trips and outside activities; arranges for transportation and supervision
- Creatively responds to resident requests for programs/activities. Designs events to meet those interests when possible
- Addresses Resident issues with Residents, families and other department managers if appropriate
- Plans appropriate programs for holidays and Special Events; participates and assists in Marketing and Staff functions
- Meets with new residents upon move in to introduce Activities/Wellness programs and discuss the resident’s personal interests/programs
- Maintains metrics on various aspects of the activities, i.e. frequency, participation, type of activities, attendance, etc.
- Initiates correspondence, including public relations communications, with outside organizations, service groups and volunteers to solicit groups for entertainment
WHY YOU ARE QUALIFIED
- A combination of a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Recreation, Sociology, Psychology or another related field plus previous experience in related discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years in Activities Programs.
