Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of various flooring surfaces, including carpets, tiles, vinyl, and hardwood floors.
- Operate floor buffing machines, wax applicators, and carpet cleaning equipment efficiently to achieve optimal results.
- Handle chemical agents safely and responsibly during cleaning procedures, following all safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as moving furniture or heavy equipment to facilitate thorough cleaning processes.
- Execute deep cleaning routines for carpets and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents and methods.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supplies used, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety standards to prevent accidents or exposure to hazardous substances while performing janitorial duties.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in custodial services or environmental cleaning within commercial or institutional settings.
- Familiarity with various floor care techniques including carpet cleaning, floor buffing, waxing, and polishing.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely with knowledge of proper storage and disposal procedures.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or bending.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to janitorial work and chemical handling practices.
- Prior experience using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors is preferred.
