Carrier Procurement Specialist

RedStone Logistics

Do you enjoy talking to people, negotiating, and finding solutions?

RedStone Logistics is looking for a proactive, self-reliant Carrier Procurement Specialist who enjoys building relationships, spending time on the phone, negotiating rates, and finding the right carriers for our network.

This is a relationship-driven, phone-heavy role. You will spend a significant part of your day talking with motor carriers—developing relationships, discussing rates, understanding capacity, and negotiating competitive pricing.

And we're proud of what we've built: RedStone Logistics has been recognized as a Top 3PL Provider for six consecutive years. We believe that success comes from great people who take initiative, communicate well, solve problems, and continually look for ways to improve.

What You'll Do

  • Build Carrier Relationships: Develop and maintain a strong network of motor carriers through regular phone and email communication.
  • Source & Negotiate: Identify carriers that fit our customers' transportation needs and negotiate competitive rates and service terms.
  • Know the Market: Research transportation markets, capacity, and pricing to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Manage Compliance: Qualify carriers and ensure they meet company and regulatory requirements, including insurance, operating authority, and safety standards.
  • Maintain Carrier Information: Keep carrier records, contracts, compliance documents, and performance information accurate and up to date in our TMS.
  • Partner With Operations: Work closely with our Operations team to understand upcoming transportation needs, provide carrier options, and help solve capacity challenges.
  • Build Long-Term Partnerships: Develop reliable carrier relationships that benefit both RedStone and our transportation partners.

Important: This position is focused on carrier sourcing, relationship management, negotiation, and compliance. You will not be responsible for directly booking or dispatching loads.

  • A Negotiator – You're confident discussing rates and looking for the best solution.
  • A Multitasker – You can manage multiple priorities and conversations while staying organized.
  • A Knowledge Seeker – You're curious, learn quickly, and want to understand the transportation market.
  • A Problem Solver – You don't get stuck when something doesn't go as planned; you look for a solution.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in carrier procurement, freight brokerage, carrier sales, transportation, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience working directly with motor carriers and negotiating transportation rates.
  • Understanding of carrier qualification and transportation compliance.
