Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are currently accepting applications for a Mechanic wanting to advance their construction career. Under limited supervision, the mechanic position performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; performs related work as assigned.

This is a safety sensitive position. Must be able to work nights & have an acceptable MVR.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs vehicles and equipment.
• Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains records and reports.
• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
• Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on-road trucks.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
• Perform "on-site" and "in-field" maintenance and repairs on paving equipment, when needed.
• Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
• Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
• Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.
• Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
• Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes.
  
  

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Work environment is consistent of an office and facility with construction equipment inventory and repair/service shop and may also include construction job site.
• Noise levels can be loud.
• Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
• PPE must comply with site specific requirements.
• Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.
  
  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full Time, Hourly

Days and hours of work Working hours may vary due to job necessity. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.

Compensation

• $16 - $25 per hour.
