Position: WA L&I Claims Manager (Employer Representation)

Due to rapid growth, Redpoint Claims is expanding our Olympia‑based team and hiring two experienced WA L&I Claims Managers. This is a claim‑owner role, not a people‑management position. You will manage a portfolio of Washington L&I workers’ compensation claims end‑to‑end on behalf of employer clients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review WA L&I claims to ensure medical treatment, time loss compensation, vocational services, and PPD awards are appropriate and comply with Washington industrial insurance law
- Coordinate with attending physicians, consulting doctors, employers, injured workers, vocational counselors, WA L&I claims managers, and other stakeholders to resolve claim issues
- Submit timely, well‑supported written protests and/or appeals when L&I decisions or benefits do not align with the law or facts of the claim
- Track deadlines and maintain accurate, well‑organized claim documentation
- Assist employers with return‑to‑work and light‑duty programs, including job analyses and job offers
- Clearly explain Washington industrial insurance law and WA L&I requirements to employer clients
- Prepare for and represent employer interests in appeals, including BIIA‑related matters, consistent with applicable rules and internal protocols
- Proactively manage your claim portfolio with planning, follow‑up, and clear client communication
Portfolio Expectations
Work may include a mix of:
- Protests and appeals (issue spotting, drafting, deadline tracking, evidence organization)
- Active claim management and coordination (medical, time loss, vocational services, PPD)
- Return‑to‑work and light‑duty support (job analyses, offers, documentation)
- Communication with providers, employers, WA L&I staff, and workers
- Strategy, documentation, summaries, and employer recommendations
Tools and Workflow Support:
- Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Direct access to WA L&I claims and employer accounts
- Gardiant Case Management System
- Standard templates, letter library, internal protocols, and administrative/process support
- Clear expectations, regular check‑ins, and leadership support without micromanagement
Required Experience and Skills:
This role requires prior WA L&I claims experience.
- Completion of the WA L&I Claim Manager Apprenticeship OR Self‑Insurance Administrator’s Certification
- Strong working knowledge of Washington industrial insurance law and WA L&I policies
- Ability to apply legal and policy knowledge efficiently to claim management decisions
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills (professional letters, grammar, formatting)
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organization, follow‑through, and deadline management
- Ability to manage a high‑volume desk independently
