Billing Specialist

Job Description

The billing specialist oversees the task of creating and sending invoices to clients. Monitoring outstanding

balances to ensure each account is paid on time and in full. Incumbent assistance in the organization and tracking of how much money is owed and by whom, often managing numerous client accounts and projects at once. The Billing Specialist will possess meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills to answer questions for clients, solve their issues, and keep them updated with relevant account information.

Responsibilities

• Read client contracts and prepare monthly invoices for the client.
• Address and solve client questions and issues.
• Continuous communication with site personnel to get regular and accurate billing data.
• Securely handle client data and payment information.
• Monitors and elevate issues relating to account balances to ensure accounts are paid on time.
• Coordinates account receivable and payable with Shared Services.
• Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports, and other correspondence.
• Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
• Must be proactive in seeking out information and staying on top of project requirements and deadlines.
• If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements
  
  

to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and

acceptable driving record.

• Responsible for keeping work areas safe and free of hazards.
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe
  
  

and efficient manner.

• Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
• Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the
  
  

appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

• Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift
  
  

rotations.

Education

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional certification, associate degree or bachelor’s degree in bookkeeping, accounting, finance,
  
  

Work Experience

business administration or another relevant field highly preferred.

• 3 years experience as a billing specialist.
• Combined education and work experience will be considered.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and ERP software (Oracle or other).
• Proficient in the use of office equipment, computers, and related software.
