Responsibilities
- Lead group fitness classes across a variety of formats such as cardio, strength, yoga, Pilates, cycling, dance, and specialized programs like BodyPump or combat kickboxing.
- Design and adapt class routines to accommodate different fitness levels and ensure participant safety.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, and physiology principles to maximize effectiveness and prevent injury.
- Foster an inclusive, motivating environment that encourages participation and builds community among members.
- Provide personalized guidance and modifications for individuals with specific needs or limitations.
- Promote upcoming classes, memberships, personal training sessions, and fitness programs to enhance member engagement and retention.
- Maintain equipment safety checks, cleanliness standards, and ensure adherence to health club policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in group fitness instruction with certifications in relevant disciplines such as Cardio, Lifting/Strength, Cycling, or Dance.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, and exercise science to inform safe program design.
- Skilled in teaching diverse formats including high-intensity workouts like CrossFit or kickboxing as well as low-impact practices like yoga or Pilates.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire participants of all ages and fitness levels.
- Ability to demonstrate exercises clearly while providing constructive feedback for proper technique.
- Certifications in personal training or sports coaching are a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for continuous learning is essential.
- Knowledge of fitness sales techniques to promote programs and memberships effectively within the health club environment.
