Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff, including training and performance management to ensure high productivity and safety compliance.
- Coordinate warehouse distribution operations, ensuring timely shipping and receiving of goods while maintaining accuracy in loading/unloading.
- Implement process improvements to enhance materials handling efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline workflow procedures.
- Manage logistics operations related to 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers, shipping carriers, and freight forwarding partners to optimize delivery schedules.
- Enforce OSHA safety standards by conducting regular safety audits, training sessions on proper lifting techniques, heavy lifting protocols, and safe operation of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of inbound/outbound shipments and warehouse activities.
- Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development among warehouse staff.
Skills
- Proven leadership skills with prior experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or Lead role managing teams in fast-paced environments.
- Scanning Systems used for inventory tracking.
- Mechanical aptitude for operating forklifts safely (certification preferred) and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to warehousing activities such as heavy lifting, OSHA compliance protocols, and hazard prevention strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency while reducing costs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, vendors, carriers, and management.
