Production Operator

Job Title: Production Operator – Fastening
Department: Manufacturing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating within a designated cell where mechanical fasteners are prepared with adhesives, processed according to quality standards, and packaged for shipment to suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor equipment within the adhesive fastener cell according to work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Apply adhesives to fasteners with precision, ensuring correct volume, placement, and curing as specified.
• Perform in-process inspections and measurements to verify conformance to product specifications.
• Assemble and package finished fastener components for distribution to external suppliers.
• Maintain accurate production records, including lot numbers, quantities, and inspection results.
• Conduct routine cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or material shortages to the supervisor.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a loud industrial environment with frequent exposure to adhesives, mechanical equipment, and moving machinery.
• Steel-toe safety boots/shoes are required at all times on the production floor.
• Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, and protective clothing is also mandatory.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and manual dexterity are regularly required.
