What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Assistant position at Redlands Community Hospital?
Reporting to and under the general direction of the Payroll Manager, this position interacts with staff, department timekeepers, Managers and Directors and performs a variety of duties pertaining to preparation of timecards for payment, and maintenance of payroll records. This position is responsible for assisting in the timely & accurate review of biweekly timecards for employees with various alternative wage orders, including co-payment calculations for employees on leave of absence. Other duties include various clerical project support, processing employee tuition applications, and assisting with preparation of quarterly taxes, W-2s, and fiscal/calendar year-end duties.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 3 or more years of hospital payroll experience is required.
- Must possess basic knowledge of CA wage & hour laws, including Wage Orders 4 & 5 and alternative work schedules.
- Experience with Kronos UKG Workforce Dimensions Time & Attendance. Meditech payroll system is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and ability to perform 10-key by touch.
