Reporting to the Nursing Director, this position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Redlands Community Hospital. It is expected the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with our Standards of Performance. The Charge Nurse adheres to the Patient’s First Philosophy of Safety, Compassion, and Efficiency. S/he is able to coordinate care not only for individual patients, but also to lead the care delivery of multiple patients in the nursing care area in accordance with policies and procedures of the Hospital. S/he collaborates with other professional disciplines/unit leaders to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery. S/he is responsible for assigning nursing personnel to specific patients for whom they will care for based upon their skill, experience and temperament, and the acuity of the patients. This position serves as resource of information and coordinates all activities within the Telemetry. Responsibilities and related duties to be carried out by the Charge Nurse as delegated by the Nurse Manager with the appropriate level of authority and ability to utilize independent judgment to ensure compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
2. Current CPR certification required.
3. ACLS required.
4. Current NIHSS certificate required.
5. Experience and/or training in leadership preferred.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
1. Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required.
2. Three to five years of relevant experience in the assigned service area preferred.
3. Demonstrated expertise in the clinical area, and leadership ability preferred.
4. Basic knowledge of computer (Word, Excel, and e-mail functions).
5. BSN preferred, MSN desired.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
1.
Current license as a
Registered Nurse in the State of California. 2.
Current BLS (American Heart
Association) certification required. 3.
Current ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 3 months of hire (ACLS
required within 6 months for new grad RNs). 4.
Current NIHSS certificate
required within 6 months of hire. 5. MAB is required to be
completed on the first day of work. (Grandfathered: existing employees
must complete new requirements by 6/9/2025.)
Salary : $55 - $88
