What are the responsibilities and job description for the OB Tech (Surgical Tech) Unit Secretary position at Redlands Community Hospital - LABOR & DELIVERY?
Reporting to Director of Nursing/Maternal Child Services, this position has knowledge of obstetrical procedures and is immediately accountable to the RN’s directing patient care. The OB Technician is accountable for organizing his/her duties and responsibilities, observing principles of sterile technique, following directions provided by the RN and/or PCC, and working within a collaborative framework.
Reporting to Nurse Manager this position has knowledge of obstetrical procedures and is immediately accountable to the RN’s directing patient care. The Surgical Tech/Unit Secretary is responsible for observing principles of sterile technique and following direction provided by the RN.

- Current BLS certification required.
- Previous OB Technician or Surgical Technician experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
- Surgical Technician certification preferred.
- One year recent experience as a unit secretary preferred.
- Completion of Terminology Course preferred.
- Prior computer experience highly desirable.
