To meet our growing business demands, Redland is seeking a full-time Construction Project Manager with 6 years of experience managing construction projects. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing projects through construction, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and guiding clients and stakeholders to achieve creative and high-quality project outcomes. The role also includes overseeing and mentoring junior staff, contributing to business development initiatives, and advancing the firm’s excellence while meeting schedule and budget goals. Candidates should have a personable and friendly attitude, be proactive, have excellent project delivery skills, and enjoy interacting, supporting, and serving clients and other team members.
This position requires the following at a minimum, responsibilities may evolve over time, and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
Job Responsibilities:
- Reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications.
- Overseeing and preparing quantity takeoffs and construction estimates for erosion control, earthwork, site civil, landscape, irrigation, and other improvements.
- Overseeing, preparing, and maintaining construction budgets and schedule from project conception through construction.
- Performing constructability and value engineering reviews during the civil engineering and landscape design process of projects.
- Providing technical oversight and conducting quality assessments of deliverables to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with standards.
- Developing and coordinating bid documents, scope of work, and special provisions for incorporation into the contract documents.
- Facilitating contract execution and serving as a point of contact between contractor(s) and owner.
- Managing the construction phase of the project, including contractor trade scheduling and coordination. This will involve daily duties in-office and on-site, coordinating construction activities related to erosion control, earthwork, wet utilities, concrete, asphalt, landscape, irrigation and dry utilities.
- Coordinating construction matters between owner, governing agencies, representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Performing construction administrative tasks including management of construction meetings, meeting agenda and meeting minutes; Reviewing and approving payment applications and change orders; Logging and tracking change orders, Request for Information (RFI)'s and material submittals between contractors and review parties.
- Coordinating and attending punchlist walks for project closeout and jurisdictional acceptances.
- Actively managing project budgeting, staffing, and workflow to achieve schedule, budget, and quality goals.
- Supervising and mentoring associates by offering constructive feedback, delegating tasks, and promoting accountability.
- Providing leadership and direction as a technical expert and advisor while fostering team growth through mentorship and professional development initiatives.
- Supporting business development by engaging in client networking, project scouting, and proposal preparation.
- Performing other responsibilities as required to support project and firm success.
Education and Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; or extensive work experience in civil construction related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of construction management experience primarily focused on civil land development projects in horizontal construction.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction estimating, processes, materials, industry best practices, and safety protocols.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications and provide constructability and value engineering reviews.
- Possessing basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Construction Management Software (Procore is preferred).
- AutoCAD or Civil3D and AGTEK earthwork estimating software experience is preferred.
- Current valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
- This position is in-person at our office in Littleton, Colorado and on-site at construction projects when required.
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites.
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Read, communicate, and document in English.
- Ability to differentiate colors.
Salary: $110,000 to $160,000 plus bonus opportunities, depending on experience.
