Employment Services provides support to clients who are seeking competitive employment in the community. Employment Specialists facilitate development of job search and employment stabilization skills. We partner with Vocational Rehabilitation’s Individual Placement and Support program to provide additional resources to help clients achieve their work-related goals.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and interact with a caseload of clients with diverse characteristics either in-person or over the phone.
- Facilitate each client’s achievement of long range outcomes of symptom management, employment and independent living based upon the needs of the client.
- Engage difficult to serve clients by investigating all potential resources in order to gain access and make connections.
- Help remove barriers for clients, which may include helping clients participate in community or social service programs, referring clients to educational or working programs and/or assisting with transportation barriers as identified in their treatment plan.
- Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
- Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
- 4-year degree in a social science field or 4 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work.
- At least two (2) years clinical experience in a direct service provision to children and adolescents in a mental health setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of the community resources as well as health and social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing working relationships with community partners preferred.
