Our Facilities Department plays a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming environments across all program locations. The team is responsible for the upkeep of our physical infrastructure, including preventative maintenance, custodial services, and general repairs. By ensuring our spaces remain clean, operational, and well-maintained, the Facilities Department directly supports the success of our programs and the safety and well-being of staff, clients, and visitors alike.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of ReDiscover-operated facilities. This includes, but is not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors; emptying trash and recycling bins (along with replacing liners); dusting furniture, fixtures, and equipment; and cleaning windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. Is also responsible for refilling supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
- Perform minor and routine maintenance and reports any repairs needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow a regular schedule and special assignments as directed.
- Keep a detailed inventory of supplies.
- Demonstrate culturally competent respect for all clients and guests through verbal and non-verbal behaviors and assist them as needed.
- Complete all assigned trainings applicable for the position as deemed necessary by ReDiscover, including new employee orientation.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of relevant experience as a janitor, custodian, or in a similar role.
- Ability to work a regular, consistent schedule of Tuesday - Friday from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
- A valid state-issued driver’s license is required, along with adherence to ReDiscover’s safe driving standards and agency driving criteria (e.g., proof of liability insurance and a functional vehicle). These requirements must be maintained in accordance with ReDiscover policy at all times.
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus
- Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.
