IT & Integrated Systems Technician

Redi Systems is seeking a motivated Systems Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on technical experience who enjoys problem-solving, desk work with some field work, and learning across a wide range of integrated technologies. This role is primarily desk-based remote support & field service/troubleshooting, with minimal new construction/rough-in work.
We specialize in making technology accessible, functional, and enjoyable for our clients across residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
What You’ll Do
Service Desk & Client Support (Tier 1/2)
- Diagnose and resolve issues across integrated systems including access control, CCTV, AV, networking, and automation
- Ticket Management: Serve as the primary or secondary point of contact for incoming client support tickets, phone calls, and site visits, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
- Network & IT Diagnostics: Troubleshoot standard IP network issues (DHCP/DNS, VLAN segmentation, baseline IP routing, Wi-Fi connectivity) across client environments (corporate, commercial, and residential).
- Workstation & User Support: Assist with desktop, printer, server access, and basic user administration/permissions.
- Remote Management: Monitor system alerts via MSP remote monitoring tools, executing basic patching, system health checks, and remote remediation.
- Research and isolate problems across hardware, software, and network components
- Provide responsive, high-quality customer support
AV, Control & Security System Support (Operational & Escalation)
- Hardware & System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot physical connectivity, power issues, signal chain interruptions, and device offline statuses for integrated systems (Control4, Kramer, CCTV cameras, alarm panels, and access control hardware).
- Configuration & Firmware Updates: Deploy firmware/software updates and reload standard configuration backups for control systems, audio matrix switches, and security gateways under guidance.
- Testing & Recommissioning: Perform standard diagnostic sweeps after repairs or network changes to verify AV routing, zone audio, video signal transmission, and alarm zone status.
Field Work, Documentation & Maintenance
- Field Service & Hardware Swaps: Conduct site visits to replace/RMA hardware (e.g., faulty cameras, UPS batteries, network switches, or Control4/Kramer processors). Minimal new installation work, primary focus on maintenance.
- Network & System Documentation: Maintain accurate network maps, IP address schedules, device layout diagrams, and site credential documentation.
- Vendor & Escalation Coordination: Escalate complex programming, advanced routing, or severe infrastructure bugs to senior Tier 3 engineers or manufacturer support (e.g., Control4 / Kramer tech support).

What We’re Looking For
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Networking fundamentals (DHCP/DNS, IP, Switch/Router interfaces, basic CLI tools)
- Basic Windows server management (AD, Entra)
- Entry level Office 365 Admin Center and Exchange management
Preferred:
- 1–3 years of experience in low-voltage systems, AV integration, or IT support
- Familiarity with access control, CCTV, networking, or control systems
- Custom Integration/IT certifications or relevant education (CompTIA A , Network , and/or Security )
Work Environment
Work takes place in offices, residential homes, and commercial/industrial job sites. This role includes fieldwork in various weather conditions and may require working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces such as attics or basements.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, work in various physical positions (standing, bending, climbing), and operate tools and equipment as needed.
