The Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Cincinnati is the first point-of-contact for any company looking to locate to or expand within the 15-county Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana, otherwise referred to as the Cincinnati region. An award-winning organization, REDI Cincinnati’s purpose is to unite the region to compete globally to bring job creation and capital investment to the region. We are the JobsOhio Network Partner for southwest Ohio.

 

SUMMARY:

The senior manager, engagement, leads the execution of REDI Cincinnati’s engagement strategy, advancing relationships with elected officials, community and economic development partners, and other key stakeholders across the region. Serving as an external representative, this role manages engagement programs, events and communications that strengthen REDI’s regional and tri-state partnerships. The senior manager oversees relationship tracking and reporting, ensures the accuracy of engagement data shared with REDI leadership and JobsOhio, and initiatives that enhance organizational visibility and funding. Reporting to and working closely with the vice president, partnerships & engagement, this position helps shape and implement strategies that expand REDI’s reach, elevate its brand among public and private stakeholders and foster collaboration to advance regional economic development.


The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000 annually.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Partner with the vice president, partnerships & engagement, to support the development of and implement REDI Cincinnati’s annual engagement plan and align relationship priorities with the organization’s broader strategies.
  2. Identify emerging opportunities to strengthen REDI’s visibility among elected officials, economic development and community partners, providing recommendations for engagement tactics, events and outreach efforts.
  3. Lead planning and execution of stakeholder engagement events—including elected official briefings, JobsOhio partner events, community partner meetings, and industry roundtables and programs—ensuring key message positioning, consistency, professionalism and alignment with REDI’s strategic goals.
  4. Manage REDI’s engagement data within its CRM, maintaining complete and accurate records of meetings, events and partner activities. Generate quarterly engagement reports for internal and JobsOhio requirements.
  5. Track engagement and sponsorship efforts, including tracking budgets, monitoring event expenditures, and supporting the Vice President in ensuring that engagement initiatives align with annual financial goals.
  6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams—including Marketing & Communications, Project Management and Business Development—to ensure alignment of messaging, content and partner outreach.
  7. Cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with JobsOhio, elected officials, community and business leaders and partner organizations to advance REDI Cincinnati’s regional engagement and organizational reputation.
  8. Serve as a point of contact for regional stakeholders, representing REDI Cincinnati in meetings, conferences and events, and ensuring a consistent, professional presence for the organization.
  9. Coordinate with JobsOhio and partners in communicating state and federal grant opportunities to local stakeholders.
  10. Analyze and report engagement activity and impact metrics, leveraging CRM data to measure performance, identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance relationship effectiveness and partner satisfaction.
  11. Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop materials (i.e. external engagements, community reports REDI’s Annual Report, social media, etc.), correspondence and messaging for stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, consistency and brand alignment.
  12. Identify opportunities to improve engagement systems, processes and reporting, including CRM utilization, event coordination workflows and partner communications. Recommend and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, collaboration and stakeholder impact.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required in business, marketing, communications, political science, public policy or related field. Experience in government relations is preferred. Experience in economic development is not required, but is a plus.

Work Environment:

The environment is typical of an office environment. This position requires commuting to the home office, located in downtown Cincinnati, as well as travel to and attendance at REDI Cincinnati events. Other special qualifications required for filling this position (ability to drive, need to have a dependable vehicle, etc.):

Must have the ability to travel locally and out of state as required. Working nights may be required for specific events or projects. Professionalism and exceptional client service is fully expected, as is collaboration and confidentiality. The ability to develop effective high-level communications strategies and implementation plans is required.
