Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, gas piping systems, and appliances in new construction and renovation projects.
- Read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing layouts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to assemble and install plumbing components efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, plumbing building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing plumbing systems to prevent failures and extend system lifespan.
- Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and clients to coordinate project timelines and meet specifications.
- Conduct system inspections to identify issues related to leaks, blockages, or mechanical failures; troubleshoot problems using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for quality assurance purposes.
- Adhere to safety protocols during heavy lifting, working at heights or confined spaces; promote a safe work environment for all team members.
- Assist with remodeling projects or handyman tasks as needed; support other trades such as carpentry or HVAC when required.
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a focus on plumbing installation and repair in residential or commercial settings.
- Valid journeyman plumber certification or equivalent licensing recognized by local authorities.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing building codes, local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools (including pipe threading), welding equipment, and basic carpentry skills.
- Familiarity with gas piping systems and HVAC components related to plumbing systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex installations or repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or team members.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with experience in maintenance, repair & operations (MRO), system troubleshooting & field service tasks.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizing or flow rates; good physical condition for demanding physical tasks.
