The Surgical Coordinator Assistant will work closely with the Surgical Coordinator and clinical teams to support surgical scheduling, patient communication, and administrative coordination. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and looking to grow their career within a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment.Job Title: Surgical Coordinator AssistantSalary/Pay Rate: $20-22/hourHours: Up to 40 hours per weekJob Type: Full-time Benefits: Paid time off, sick time, health insurance (medical, dental, vision, accident, and critical illness), life insurance, 401(k) with Company match, yearly bonusJob Duties (include but are not limited to):Assist with coordinating surgical procedures between physicians, patients, and surgical facilitiesSupport the maintenance and accuracy of surgical schedulesCommunicate pre-operative instructions, preparation details, and post-operative requirements to patients under guidance of the Surgical CoordinatorAssist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit confirmation for surgical servicesServe as a support point of contact for patients, surgeons, and operating facilitiesTrack surgical authorizations and assist the authorization team as neededMaintain accurate patient and surgical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)Help resolve scheduling issues or delays and escalate concerns appropriatelyPerform ad hoc projects and additional duties as assigned by managementMinimum Education or Experience Requirements:High school diploma or GED required1–2 years of experience in medical scheduling, care coordination, or administrative healthcare support preferredBasic knowledge of medical terminology and surgical workflows preferredStrong organizational, communication, and multitasking skillsProficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems
