What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worship Leader & Youth Ministry Associate position at Redeemer Baptist Church?
Worship ministry is the primary focus of this position. We're looking for someone with genuine musical gifting who can lead our congregation in worship and work alongside our pastor in shaping the worship life of the church. We don't have a worship team right now, so there's no group to step into or manage. Our hope and dream is to see the worship team grow. This role also includes leading our small Thursday evening youth gathering.
Worship (Sunday)
Lead congregational worship on Sunday mornings
Plan weekly worship alongside the pastor
Select songs that are biblical, Christ-centered, and singable
Lead vocally and instrumentally on guitar or piano
Prepare worship sets and lyrics in ProPresenter
Work with sound and media volunteers
Help lead worship for Easter, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, baptisms, funerals, and other special services
Youth Ministry (Thursday)
Prepare and teach a weekly Bible lesson
Build healthy, encouraging relationships with students
Communicate well with parents
Work with adult volunteers
Occasionally plan activities, service opportunities, or social nights
Who We're Looking For
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ
Agreement with Redeemer's doctrine, mission, and values
Real musical talent, able to lead worship vocally and on guitar or piano
A heart for congregational singing over performance
Curious about the Jesus of the Gospels
Relates well to students, parents, volunteers, and older members
Comfortable serving in a small-church environment
About Redeemer
Redeemer Baptist Church is in Aurora, Colorado. Programs and personalities aren't what we want shaping this church. We want Jesus to shape how we worship, teach, and live together.
Compensation & Benefits
$40,000–$50,000 per year, full-time, depending on experience and qualifications. Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings are the two regular commitments, along with weekly worship preparation and general involvement in the life of the church.
