Seasonal Production Laborer - (Working Thur. thru Saturday 14 hours...off the rest)

POSITION PURPOSE: (Shift is Thurs thru Sat...14 hours. Off the rest of the week.)

This seasonal role accelerates business value by having the responsibility of this position is to bag and/or stack ice on pallets.

Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stack a variety of products, ranging from 5lb to 40lb bags onto standard pallets, must be done neat and square. Help monitor product quality including; bags not properly tied, foreign objects, yellow ice and any deviation from standards.
• Learn to start and stop the line when needed. Keep the area safe and report potential hazards to supervisor. Clean immediate work area and entire facility according to the Master Cleaning Schedule.
• Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Some decision making ability. Occasionally shut down the line when defects are noted or safety violations observed. Must work in a safe and responsible manner to protect personnel and property.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have High School diploma or GED with the ability to count numbers, use of basic math and complete simple paperwork.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift and stack up to 45lbs throughout 12-hour shift. Must be able to work in room with temperatures of 45 – 60 degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
