JOB SUMMARY: This team member serves food and beverages at designated areas of the Hotel to maximize guest satisfaction
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities outlined here are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, however, are not all inclusive:
Attends training classes that are scheduled by the Hotel
Maintains the level of service standards and adhere to these as established by the organization
Practices personal hygiene as per set rules and regulations
Greets in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner
Ensures correct order taking from the guest(s), including room service
Suggests upsell and/or featured items, thus increasing the average check
Ensures timely and correct delivery or ordered items
Handles all guest complaints immediately; informs Supervisor and/or General Manager when necessary
Thanks guests upon departure and invites them to return
Performs side-work as assigned, including vacuuming and mopping at the end of an assigned shift
Maintains stations in a clean and orderly fashion
Processes and prepares all Door Dash orders swiftly and accurately
Assists other team members when not busy
Answers the room service phone promptly clearly identifying the department to the guest
Speaks pleasantly in a friendly tone
Maintains a complete understanding of the menu and daily specials to fully inform the guest
Keeps informed about kitchen preparation times and/or backlog times in order to keep the guest informed of delivery times
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

§ A High School diploma, or the equivalent thereof, is preferred
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
The experience and knowledge requirements outlined here are representative of the minimum that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position; however, higher levels of experience and knowledge than required may be reflected during the recruitment process:
§ Experience in cash handling is required
§ The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
§ Excellent guest service skills are required
§ Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, menus, guest relations, and etiquette is required
§ Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware is required
§ The ability to remember, recite and promote menu items and special promotions is required
§ The ability to learn and operate a point-of-sale system to pre-check orders and close out the check is required
§ Prior restaurant and bar experience is preferred
§ TIPS Training required
§ Food Handlers Certificate required
§ Must have a current California Driver’s License, current insurance, and a clear driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements outlined here are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
§ The ability to climb stairs and ladders, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, or sit for an extended period of time, up to eight (8) hours or more, is required
§ The team member frequently is required to taste or smell
§ The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 10-15 pounds on a daily basis and up to 25 pounds on a weekly basis
§ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
