Duties
- Conduct detailed legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and legal analysis.
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents including pleadings, contracts, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Assist in managing cases across multiple practice areas such as estate planning, landlord-tenant disputes, family law matters, securities regulations, workers' compensation claims, personal injury cases, tribal law issues, patent applications, and environmental compliance.
- Support attorneys during litigation proceedings by preparing discovery requests, organizing case files, and coordinating depositions.
- Engage in negotiations with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all procedural rules and deadlines.
- Utilize legal research platforms like Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather pertinent case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction(s).
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail for effective legal drafting and research.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a law office setting or legal administrative experience is preferable but not required.
- Exceptional negotiation skills combined with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
