Sr. Electrical Engineer (Controls Engineering) (12 month contract // North Haven, CT):

Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow and help implement best practices and standard procedures.
- Communicate technically with various internal departments to ensure that equipment is implemented in compliance with EHS standards and the equipment provided makes high quality assemblies to meet all product requirements.
- Be responsible for providing all documentation required to support assembly equipment. This includes but is not limited to operating instructions, electrical schematics, specifications, parameter settings, software backups, defining documents, etc.
- Will write FAT, SAT, and execution of Installation Qualification (IQ) functional protocol challenges.
Education: BS Electrical / Controls / Electromechanical Engineering preferred
Years of Experience: 3-5 years of Controls Engineering
Description: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the electrical/controls support of various manufacturing areas within the General Surgical Products Focus Factory. This includes being the project lead in cost savings, manufacturing process improvements, assembly equipment retrofit projects, and new equipment procurement.
Duties:
- Provide technical support to maintenance as required.
- Address appropriately related manufacturing issues on a daily basis as need.
- Troubleshoot machine stoppages and provide root cause analysis for manufacturing teams.
- Key participant in DFMEA, PFMEA, Machine Risk Assessments, and quality (CTQ) processes assuring specifications are well defined and documented.
- Key participant in equipment specifications, supplier selection, and qualification activities.
- Key participant in all Validation activities.
- Ability to read Electrical schematics.
- Create and provide equipment specifications to vendors for quoting automated and manual equipment.
- Review and develop process improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of manufacturing systems.
- Review equipment quotes, design reviews and work with project teams to provide custom assembly equipment.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with multiple functional groups both within and outside of operations.
- 10% travel to manufacturing sites and supplier visits required (Domestic).
