Facilities Engineer

Sr. Facilities Engineer (24 month contract // North Haven, CT):

Manager Note:

• Travel to other sites 5-10% within the Northeast (mostly Massachusetts) depending on project needs after first 10-12 months
• On Site 4 days per week

Top 3 Skills:

1. Experience with commissioning for facilities equipment and systems (HVAC, electrical, building automation, plumbing systems)
2. Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access control
3. Experience supporting design/build of clean rooms, chiller plants, compressed air plants

Description: The Senior Facilities Engineer - Sterilization will be responsible for analysis, design, and support of all facility engineering related to the multi-year sterilization infrastructure projects at the North Haven, CT campus. They will serve as the owners-rep engineer on a broad array of projects at a clean medical device manufacturing facility including HVAC, exhaust, chillers, boilers, dry compressed air, etc.

Duties:

• Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities
• Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility
• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings
• Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition
• Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs
• Inspects or directs the inspection of construction, installation progress, and commissioning to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of Facility Mechanical infrastructure, Electrical Infrastructure, and Building Automation Systems experience OR Master’s Degree and 2 years of experience
• Mechanical system knowledge (HVAC, electrical, building automation, plumbing systems)
• Facility Commissioning experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics
• Experience supporting design/build of clean rooms, chiller plants, compressed air plants

Nice to Have:

• Experience with integrated building solutions including temperature control, critical environment monitoring, power management and alarming, zoned lighting control and facility access control
• Experience with building automation and controls software, ideally Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BA
