Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for manufacturing products by supervising staff and organizing / monitoring workflow. This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees, as well as secondary plant security. Additionally, the Production Supervisor position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters and will also participate in both the hiring and performance management processes.

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor Essential Job Functions:

• Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
• Troubleshooting utilizing Root Cause Analysis tools such as 5-whys
• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
• Setting daily targets with departmental leads during pre-shift toolbox
• Maintain production and quality control standards
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and modifying production schedules accordingly
• Help develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality
• Works to enhance customer satisfaction and trust by responding to concerns with a sense of urgency and creating plans to proactively address future issues
• Enhances employee morale by driving engagement and establishing an environment of trust and respect
  
  

Production Supervisor Supervisory Responsibility

• Managing 1 to 2 leads and up to 25 employees
  
  

Production Supervisor Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, pull or push up to 50 lbs.; anything over 50 lbs. is to be assisted
• Be on your feet 10 hours per day
