About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled AWS Solution Architect to design and implement modern, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. This role blends deep technical expertise with practical experience in cloud adoption, automation, and solution delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to architect AWS-based solutions, modernize applications, and guide cloud best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design sessions, requirements gathering, and solution architecture for AWS-based projects.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions that leverage AWS services effectively for scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Partner with project teams and delivery engineers to ensure successful deployment and operationalization of solutions.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and/or Cloud Formation (experience required).
• Guide teams in implementing CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and DevOps best practices.
• Provide technical mentorship and serve as a subject matter expert in AWS solution architecture.
• Collaborate with security and networking teams to ensure solutions meet governance and compliance standards.
• Contribute to reusable architectural patterns, documentation, and technical standards.
• Participate in technical presentations, design reviews, and post-project retrospectives.
• Stay current with emerging AWS technologies and advocate for best-fit solutions within delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 5 years of overall IT experience, with 3 years focused on AWS architecture and deployment.
  • Including working with a variety of services for small to enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions — compute, networking, storage, IAM, and security services.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation (required).
• Experience integrating with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with containerized workloads (ECS or EKS) preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of IAM, encryption, key management, and security best practices in AWS.
• Experience with scripting or development in Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Comfortable working with enterprise or public sector clients in a consulting or delivery capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
• Experience with migration, modernization, or hybrid cloud architectures
• Exposure to monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog)
• Experience implementing SecOps or compliance frameworks (SOC2, FedRAMP, HIPAA, etc.)

The base salary range for this full-time position in the US is $170,000 - $180,000 annually bonuses benefits. Redapt salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The salary range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the base pay offered may vary within the range depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to work location, job related knowledge/skills, relevant education/training, and level of experience.
