Position Overview
We are seeking a strong and driven Sous Chef to join Amisto’s opening team and help build the kitchen. Working directly alongside Chef Manny, this role will play a key part in executing the culinary vision, leading daily operations, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations
- Work directly with Chef Manny to execute and maintain the culinary vision
- Lead daily kitchen operations and support service execution
- Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes
- Assist in managing prep, ordering, inventory, and food cost controls
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and kitchen systems
Team Leadership & Development
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff with consistency and discipline
- Foster a culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, and professionalism
- Lead by example during prep and service in a fast-paced environment
- Help establish systems and structure for a from-scratch kitchen program
Culinary Execution
- Support the development and execution of scratch-made recipes, sauces, and masa programs
- Maintain a strong understanding of ingredients, technique, and seasonal execution
- Ensure all food is prepared with precision and attention to detail
Qualifications
- 3 years of Sous Chef experience or comparable kitchen leadership role
- Strong leadership presence and ability to confidently run service
- Experience in high-volume, detail-driven kitchens
- Passion for Mexican cuisine, ingredients, and culinary technique
- Organized, accountable, and calm under pressure
- Strong communication and team-building skills
