Red Stag, LLC, a milk-hauling leader in the trucking industry, is seeking an experienced Lead mechanic for its new location in Harrisonburg, VA. Your role as a lead mechanic is crucial to our operations, ensuring the smooth running of our fleet and the safety of our drivers.
Qualifications:
Diesel Engine Experience: At least 3 years
Valid Class C Driver's License Required - Class A a Plus!
Ability to lead a team of technicians and manage their Duties
Excellent Organizational and Diagnostic skills
Must be able to use Microsoft excel, word and outlook
ASE / Other Mechanic Certifications Preferred
Must have personal hand tools; specialty tools will be provided
Ability to Work Independently but also as a Team
Job Description:
Oversee Diesel mechanics in maintenance, servicing, and repairing of tractors and tankers
Assist in the supervision and operation of the garage
Assist in purchasing parts, processing work order and tracking inventory
Train and supervise staff as required
Maintaining a safe and productive work environment
Use analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues as they arise to ensure a positive outcome
Foster a positive work environment and uphold company policy and procedures
Work on diesel engines (DD15/DD13, MP8)
Repair/Replace brakes, wheel seals, electrical systems, differentials, Etc.
Conduct Safety Checks, DOT inspections
Repair Trailers, Tires, Fenders
