The Intake Specialist is responsible for the verification and authorization of insurance benefits. Serves as the initial client contact to obtain patient demographics, physician orders, H&P, and authorization as required by insurance.
Responsibilities:
• Collects and records initial client information to include the type of referral, type of insurance, and patient demographics.
• Verifies client benefits and obtains authorization for DME.
• Inbound and outbound calls
• Enters information in Brightree Systems.
• Authorizes all new orders as soon as they are received.
• Expresses verbal and written communication in a clear, positive, and cooperative manner.
Job Requirements
• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year in an office/customer service setting
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through
• Experience following HIPAA
• Excellent computer skills, including experience with PDFs
Preferred
• Medicare local coverage criteria (LCD)
