In support of the U.S. Navy’s PEO IWS-X initiative, the Senior Cyber Engineer evaluates and implements cybersecurity requirements for IL2, IL5, and IL6 environments and ensures compliance with applicable frameworks while protecting cyber terrain from advanced threats.
This role ensures all cybersecurity framework requirements are satisfied and requires documented and demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, threat defense, and high-security environments.

Responsibilities:
- Review and apply cybersecurity requirements for IL2, IL5, and IL6 systems.
- Develop defensive strategies to counter advanced persistent threats.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity measures align with program goals.
- Provide technical leadership for cybersecurity initiatives and risk mitigation.
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, liberal arts, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- A certification such as CISSP, CEH, or Security required.
- Must have the applicable 8570 / 8140 requirements including certification IAM Level III.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
- Must be able to commute to the Dahlgren, VA area on a daily basis.
- 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in advanced threat defense.
- Experience with IL2, IL5, and IL6 environments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a logical approach to cybersecurity challenges.
- Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks and threat defense.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Background in systems engineering or software development is highly desirable.
