Position Title:
Loan Processor/MSR
Reports To:
Branch Manager and/or Regional Director
Basic Function:
Perform clerical work for loans and open new Credit Union memberships.
Responsibilities:
Greets members as they enter the lobby in an outgoing, courteous manner.
Prepare loans for Loan Officer; input applicant information, run credit reports, print ques, and pull-up NADA value.
Book loans and ensure the proper disbursement of proceeds. Sets-up direct deposit allocations for loan payments.
Process loans on computer and update loan data. Answer phone inquiries regarding loans, NADA values, and calls to Loan Officer and/or Branch Manager.
Forward approved loans to Quality Control and denied loans to the Loan Committee.
Cross-sells every product and service as needed to meet the financial needs of the individual member.
Reviews membership applications for approval; opens and provides information on all credit union account types.
Assists members with direct deposits, IRAs, CDs, check orders, address changes, automatic transfer, wire transfers and other financial needs.
Instructs members on the proper use of the Audio Response System, Home Banking, Bill Payer, plastic services (ATM, Check Card, and Gift Cards) and Moneyline transfers.
Prints and reviews member statements or account histories, counsels' members regarding the activity of their accounts.
Makes correction to accounts as needed. Alert to warnings of fraud and able to detect and avoid possible fraudulent activity.
Assist with various branch duties as needed.
Adheres to all Red River Employees Federal Credit Union policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience in the loan and/or member service department of a credit union or equivalent experience with similar financial institutions.
High school diploma or the equivalent, with some college preferred.
Competent computer skills and use of standard office equipment.
Ability to meet, speak and deal effectively with people, being professional always.
Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
