What are the responsibilities and job description for the Affordable Housing Site/Area Manager position at Red Oak Management Co. Inc.?
At Red Oak Management, we are redefining property management for today’s dynamic workforce. We are seeking a Full-Time Area Property Manager to help oversee our affordable housing properties in Houghton Lake and Roscommon, MI, as well as assist with performance and operations of other sites within a designated area.

What You Will Do:
- Efficient Rental Processing: Manage rental applications swiftly and fairly, ensuring compliance with all fair housing laws.
- Lease Coordination: Facilitate lease signings, gather necessary compliance documentation, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new residents.
- Resident Engagement: Partner with our Corporate Compliance team to communicate effectively with residents, address inquiries, and resolve concerns.
- Proactive Inspections: Conduct regular property and apartment inspections, identifying repair needs and ensuring safety standards are met.
- Maintenance Oversight: Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate with vendors to process work orders and keep maintenance logs up to date.
- Area Oversight: Demonstrate the highest professional and customer service standards for yourself and your entire team while collaborating with site managers in your designated area on a regular basis to compare operational performance including occupancy, rent collection, compliance, unit turnovers, work orders, and more.
- Performance Management: Gather and review metrics with site managers, addressing poor performing areas. Share best practices and provide situational support to site managers.
- Liaison: Share feedback and area performance information with the Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Corporate. Collaborate with corporate team to identify improvement areas and innovations for relevant processes.

- Experienced: Previous LIHTC or RD/LIHTC experience is required, but your drive to learn is most important.
- Must hold a valid Michigan driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and be willing to complete a background check.
