Senior Director, Client Services
The Senior Director serves as the primary day-to-day client contact for the company’s medical education and logistical services ensuring that assigned projects are progressing as needed, identifying additional client needs, and identifying innovative new projects and services to meet those needs. Ability to partner with clients to support organic growth and identify areas for strategic support. Reports to Jana Jagodzinski, Vice President, Client Services.
Responsibilities
- Day to day client lead and serves as the main point of contact with the client
- Work with internal and external teams to create budgets, SOWs, program and processes within the pharmaceutical guidelines and client specifications
- Manage the day-to-day client team in addition to partnering with any project management team on the event management and operations side
- Develop personalized performance reviews for the team
- Work as part of a fast-paced team in the pharmaceutical industry and the ability to think “big picture” while understanding the RN philosophy of “white glove” service
- Management of meetings from inception to execution
- Recommend projects and changes that align with brand strategy
- Able to develop strategic and tactical business plans in partnership with the VP, Client Services, and other internal RN agencies
- Responsible for being onsite for specific project initiatives to maintain client relationship
- Demonstrate a good understanding of therapeutic category(s) and any project history with the Agency/Client, if applicable
- Provide oversight to team members to ensure that agendas/recaps are developed and sent within a timely fashion (assumes 24-hour turnaround)
- Assumes follow up to be done with internal and external team members to ensure that timelines are being met both logistically and from a medical content perspective
- Lead weekly status calls in collaboration with medical team lead and encourage participation of all team members to ensure client is familiar with the broader team
- Management of project budgets and reconciliation process (close out files)
- Manage promotional programs which may include live events (advisory boards, corporate receptions, speaker training programs, symposia, booth management), enduring materials from live events, conference activities, web-based programs, and monographs as well as other programs
- Create and/or edit client slide presentations/documents, if requested
- Liaise with outside vendors and strategic partners as needed
- Demonstrate expertise and ensure adherence to internal processes, PhRMA, and open payment (Sunshine Reporting) guidelines
- Have experience to independently lead groups, teams and client activities
- Travel to meetings as needed (25%) with overnight and weekend programs
Education, Experience and Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required – Communications, Advertising, Marketing or related field preferred
- 10 years of medical education/advertising/marketing/event planning experience preferred
- Effectively leads individuals across internal RN and client stakeholders for shared results
- Established and demonstrated presentation, organization, ownership, time management, communication, attention to detail, and customer focus
- Proven organizational and timeline prioritization skills; scheduling flexibility to accommodate work volumes and the ability to manage multiple assignments
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, whenever appropriate
- Professional manner and strong ethical code
- Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
- Commitment to working efficiently and accurately
- Strong or expert partnering, negotiation and problem-solving skills required
- Intermediate level with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook required
- Ability to travel to meetings as needed (25%) with overnight and weekend programs
