What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Designer position at Red Mountain Retail dba ASHLEY?
Ashley is the #1 Furniture and Mattress company in North America. Red Mountain Retail owns and operates Ashley in North and Central Alabama.
We are looking for interior designers who will add value to our customers’ shopping experience and homes! The interior designers will not only provide design consultation to customers at the store, they will provide services at the customer’s home. Someone who has an eye for design and home furnishing is ideal for this role. This is a base plus commission role.
What Will You Do:
- Work with customers and retail sales associates to create beautiful rooms and spaces while recommending furniture and accessories to give customers a completed, designed look.
- Provide inhome, instore, and virtual consultations to better understand your customers’ needs, style, investment, and space(s).
- Assist Retail Sales Associates in closing transactions by providing your design knowledge to the customers.
- Assists Retail Sales Associate scheduling or attending a qualified home visit.
- Coordinate with the customer during the home visit and the final presentation to review the items selected, pricing, and delivery schedules, if applicable.
- Provide feedback to customers to help build sales and increase average tickets.
- Have knowledge of special sales, financing plans, delivery procedures, warranties, etc.
- Reinforce customer selections and help bring sales to closure.
Requirements:
- Ability to travel to customers’ home within a 45 mile radius
- At least 3 years of residential interior designing experience
- Understanding of color theory, design elements, furniture, etc are needed to be successful in this role
- Strong communication skills
