Industrial Rigger

Red Moon Elite is seeking an experienced Industrial Rigger for a project in Morganton, NC. This role requires a skilled professional with current lift certifications to safely and precisely relocate, scrap, and set heavy machinery into place.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Relocate, scrap, and set industrial machinery into final position according to engineering plans and specifications.
• Select, inspect, and prepare appropriate rigging gear (cables, slings, chains, hoists, etc.) for each lift.
• Ensure loads are properly attached and balanced to prevent shifting or tipping during movement.
• Maneuver heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
• Communicate using verbal and hand signals to direct crane/hoist operators and coordinate the movement of loads.
• Align, level, and anchor machinery in its final location.
• Inspect, monitor, and maintain all rigging equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate effectively in English to coordinate with teams, supervisors, and general contractors.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must possess current lift certifications.
• Proven experience in industrial rigging, machinery moving, and heavy equipment relocation.
• In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment, load calculation, and suspension techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret system drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE use.
• Must be fluent in English.

Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $28-$30.00/hour
• Per Diem: $80.00 per day worked
• Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Schedule:

• Work Location: Morganton, NC
• Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Physical Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.

Mental Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills (including load calculations); planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.

Work Environment Factors:

• Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
