TITLE:  Food Service Worker

EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Ten (10) Months

SALARY CLASSIFICATION:  Classified Salary,  NON-EXEMPT

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  To prepare, present and serve nutritious food for students and staff in a timely fashion.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Assists with trash removal, as required.
• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weights and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.

CERTIFICATION:  Food Handler’s Permit, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

SKILLS REQUIRED:  Use of kitchen appliances; ability to read directions, complete reports, be friendly and courteous, work well with others. 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:  Rules and regulations governing school food services, health and safety. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education:                    High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:                   Cook and/or Food Service experience required.

Supervision:                 Perform as directed, responsible for own job.

Responsibility:             Responsible for some equipment.

License:                         Must possess a food handler’s license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to handle items weighting up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time.  Must be able to operate equipment in a satisfactory manner.
