TITLE:  Custodian

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:  Ten (10) Months

SALARY CLASSIFICATION:  Classified Salary (NON-EXEMPT)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  To maintain clean facilities for students and staff which will enhance a positive learning environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Cleans all assigned areas
2. Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors
3. Washes windows, walls, woodwork and equipment
4. Empties trash receptacles
5. Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning and special events
6. Replaces light bulbs and performs other minor repairs, as required
7. Provides building security, as required
8. Performs special custodial work, as directed
9. Performs other related tasks as assigned

CERTIFICATION:  CPR/First Aid; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

MODERATE RISK OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:  Works with some hazardous cleaning materials.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Demonstrated handling of toxic and hazardous chemicals; use of cleaning equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION:  High school diploma or GED equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:  One year or more experience required;

SUPERVISION:  Perform as directed, responsible for own job.

RESPONSIBILITY:  Responsible for some equipment.

LICENSE:  Valid Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, extensive walking, standing and bending.
