What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Housekeeper position at Red Lion Hotel Eureka?
Our housekeeping team is responsible for keeping the hotel and guest rooms clean and presentable to our guests. They also assist with cleaning the linen and terry that our guests use. At times, a housekeeper may be assigned the duties of a house attendant which include delivering linen to and from the laundry room and assisting with various tasks to keep the housekeepers productive. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys interacting with the public in a positive manner and is self motivated to complete their tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
Position Description:
- Unload and load housekeeping carts with supplies.
- Clean the hotel guest rooms and bathrooms with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Change linen and terry in guest rooms
- Assist laundry attendants with tending the laundry machines: cleaning and drying sheets, pillow cases, towels, napkins and tablecloths.
- Sort, fold and stock clean linen and terry as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the hotel public areas.
- Follow attendance policy by being on time for scheduled shifts, working scheduled shifts in full unless instructed otherwise by department supervisor, and providing notification to department supervisor as early as possible and preferably at least 2 hours prior to scheduled shifts if you are unable to work.
- Other duties as assigned or as needed to create Signature Moments for our guests.
Position Requisites:
- Ability to perform lightweight housecleaning: mopping, vacuuming, dusting & scrubbing.
- There are times when you may have to deal with an unhappy person; you do need to know how to deal professionally, courteously and tactfully with the public and coworkers
- Ability to operate standard laundry equipment: washers, dryers & mangle.
- Ability to stand/walk continuously for extended periods of time (6 to 8 Hours)
- Ability to Lift/Carry up to 40lbs and Push/Pull up to 100lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize well to meet deadlines
- Behaves with integrity, honesty and is open with guests and fellow associates.
- Develops effective working relationship with fellow associates, managers, outside representatives and agencies.
