Seasonal Fire Extinguisher Technician (June–August)Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Seasonal Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team for the busy summer service season from June through August. This position is responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and installing portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10, local codes, and company standards.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, recharge, repair, and tag portable fire extinguishers in compliance with NFPA 10 and applicable AHJ requirements
- Perform annual, 6-year, and hydrostatic services as required
- Accurately document inspections, deficiencies, and completed work using company systems
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding deficiencies, recommendations, and code requirements
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory in good working order
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites
Productivity & Reliability Expectations
- Complete assigned service routes within established time and performance benchmarks
- Arrive on time to scheduled jobs and maintain consistent attendance throughout the seasonal term
- Minimize rework by completing inspections accurately the first time
- Maintain organized paperwork and timely job closeouts
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift and carry fire extinguishers and equipment (up to approximately 75 lbs)
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes
- Basic mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in commercial and industrial environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a fire extinguisher technician
- Knowledge of NFPA 10 and related fire protection standards
- Experience using mobile field service or inspection software
Additional Information
This is a seasonal field-based position operating out of Sidney, servicing customer locations using company-provided mobile service units. The anticipated employment period is June through August, with the potential for future opportunities based on workload and performance.
Work schedules may vary to meet customer requirements, including occasional early start times (as early as 6:00 a.m.). Most workdays are 8–10 hours during peak service periods.
