Seeking full-time line cook for Red Hook Tavern, a critically acclaimed restaurant in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Candidates must have 2 years of experience working in BOH Positions.
Must be energetic, level headed, self-sufficient, and organized. Food Handlers Certification is recommended for line cooks.
Job Requirements :
Support Chef with all menu prep and execution
Assist in producing Family Meal
Work well as part of a team in an often fast-paced environment
Maintain a positive attitude and promote a respectful work environment
Ensuring high food quality and thoughtful plating (as set by Chef)
Complete station inventories and checklists
Demonstrate safe food handling procedures such as dating, labeling, and rotating
Be able to safely operate and clean all kitchen equipment
Ensure compliance with the local health department and other regulations
Passion for food and flavor, commitment to cleanliness, and professionalism
Strong multitasking skills and problem-solving abilities (understanding that things will go wrong in this industry!)
Strong knife skills
Punctual and reliable
