What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Gaming Operations position at Red Hawk Resort Casino?
• Administers approved departmental policies and activities, and assists in developing realistic short and long-term goals and objectives for the department in alignment with those of the property.
• Maintains general management of all gaming operations.
• Regularly reviews and evaluates slot departmental performance, working with Vice President of Gaming Operations to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions.
• Reviews financial statements and forecasts. Gives input and ideas on how to increase profits and cut costs in all areas of the department.
• Conducts constant monitoring of internal affairs including scheduling, enforcement of policy, training and communication among and between all three shifts.
• Along with the Shift Manager(s), listens to, evaluates, and assumes control of guest (grievances) and settles the same without delay.
• Oversees player development and retention by promoting positive guest relations, conducting follow-up contacts, effectively handling guest disputes and requests, and continual training of subordinates in proper guest relations.
• Reviews analyses of operations, costs, and forecast data to determine department organizational progress toward stated goals and objectives.
• Maintains appropriate department staffing levels.
• Confers with managers to review achievements and discuss needed changes in goals or objectives resulting from current or projected future status or conditions.
• Implements approved training programs, and monitors all department training programs and seminars, directed at developing and enhancing employee skills.
• Approves large credit extensions within Credit Committee guidelines.
• Maintains strong working knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures optimal operational efficiency with continual contact and walk through observation of all areas of responsibility, including casino floor and Poker Room.
• Regularly reviews and evaluates Table Games and Slots departmental performance with the VP of Gaming Operations, working through shift managers to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions.
• Develops and participates in special projects as requested by the VP of Gaming Operations.
• Sets priorities for Table Games Shift Managers, and Slots Shift Managers providing guidance and assistance as needed.
• Initiates and maintains communication with subordinates, employees, management, and other departments in facilitating the flow of information throughout the property.
