Dishwasher / Steward Red Dunn Kitchen – Job Description

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by ensuring all dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards. This position plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen team and ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate and maintain the commercial dishwashing machine.
• Keep the dish area, sinks, floors, and workstations clean and organized.
• Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, and maintain waste disposal areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors throughout the shift and at closing.
• Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries when needed.
• Help kitchen staff with basic food prep and stocking supplies as assigned.
• Clean kitchen equipment, shelves, coolers, and storage areas according to the cleaning schedule.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.
• Support the kitchen team with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Previous dishwashing or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
