Summary Description:
Red Dot Corporation is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support cross-functional projects within our manufacturing and product development teams. This role provides hands-on experience across design, manufacturing, and testing environments, offering exposure to real-world engineering challenges in HVAC systems.
The intern will collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Test teams to support product improvements, design revisions, and production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering projects related to product design changes, manufacturing improvements, or testing
- Support cross-functional collaboration between:
Design Engineering (DE)
Manufacturing Engineering (ME)
Quality Assurance (QA)
Test Engineering
- Participate in product builds and validation on the manufacturing floor
- Analyze data and provide recommendations for process or product improvements
- Assist in creating or updating:
Work instructions
Process documentation
Test procedures
- Support troubleshooting efforts related to production or product performance
- Present project outcomes and findings at the end of the internship
Potential Project Areas (Flexible)
- Product design revisions or engineering change orders (ECOs)
- Manufacturing process improvements (efficiency, workflow, ergonomics)
- Test validation or data analysis for HVAC systems
- Quality investigations and root cause analysis
- Documentation standardization or process mapping
Requirements
Qualifications
· Currently pursuing a degree in:
Mechanical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering
· Strong interest in manufacturing and product development
· Basic understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving
· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
· Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Exposure to CAD, data analysis, or basic programming
- Interest in HVAC systems, thermodynamics, or applied physics
- Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for research or productivity
Internship Details
- Location: Red Dot Corporation – Puyallup, WA
- Duration: Mid-June to Mid-August (approx. 8–10 weeks)
- Schedule: Typically 4 days/week (4x10 schedule, Mon–Thurs or Tues–Fri depending on team needs)

Salary Grade** for this role is as follows:
Min: $27.00
Max: $30.00
