The Logistics Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, execution, and performance of the company’s transportation and warehouse functions. This role ensures that goods are efficiently stored, inventory levels are maintained, handled, and transported to meet customer expectations while maintaining safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The Logistics Manager leads teams across dispatch, driving, and warehouse, and champions a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
By working closely with various teams, the Logistics Manager plays a key role in ensuring on-time deliveries of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) steel structures, supporting the success of each project and the overall operations of the Logistics Department.
Essential Functions:
· Develop and execute integrated strategies for shipping, fleet resources, and warehouse operations to support company goals in service, cost control, and scalability.
· Drive a results-oriented culture with a focus on safety, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
· Analyze operational data and KPIs to make informed decisions and guide continuous improvement initiatives.
· Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvement, route optimization, vendor negotiations, and workforce efficiency.
· Lead and develop a team of coordinators, supervisors, Leads, and hourly staff across multiple shifts.
· Serve as a key leader in logistics planning, network of carrier design, fleet strategy and/or management.
· Manage fleet utilization, route planning, driver performance, and equipment maintenance.
· Oversee dispatch, DOT compliance, fuel efficiency, and contract carrier relationships.
· Monitor Warehouse KPIs such as throughput, shrinkage, picking accuracy, and space utilization.
· Collaborate with Loading, Warehouse, and Manufacturing to streamline operations and ensure shipping is being completed timely and completed jobs are shipped in full.
· Review the audits and shipping loading documentation completed by the Assistant Shipping Coordinator.
· Report ongoing performance issues to management for resolution.
