Duties
- Assist with daily menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and dietary guidelines
- Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of meals using proper knife skills and cooking techniques
- Handle food safely by following established food safety protocols, including proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices
- Serve meals to residents or customers with professionalism and a friendly attitude, maintaining excellent food service standards
- Support catering events by preparing, presenting, and serving food in accordance with event specifications
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal times and ensure timely delivery of food services
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in culinary skills including knife skills and food safety practices
- Experience in catering or serving is advantageous
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork
