Red Dog Pet Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced Professional Dog Groomer for our boutique-style grooming salon in downtown Boston, MA.
This is a part-time, commission-based position. Red Dog supports groomers by assisting with appointment booking, helping build and maintain clientele, and providing basic grooming supplies such as shampoo, conditioner, and cologne.
Compensation: Commission-based. Expected annualized earnings range based on schedule, appointments completed, services performed, and client demand.
The Professional Dog Groomer is responsible for providing high-quality grooming services while delivering a positive client and pet experience. This role requires strong technical grooming skills, attention to detail, safe pet handling, and professional communication with clients both in person and over the phone.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing full-service grooming appointments for dogs of varying breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments
- Grooming to breed profile and/or client request
- Bathing, drying, brushing, trimming, shaving, scissoring, and de-shedding as needed
- Communicating with clients regarding grooming requests, pet condition, and recommended services
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized grooming workspace
- Handling pets safely, calmly, and compassionately
- Following company policies, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of professional dog grooming experience. Strong scissoring skills, de-shedding experience, and the ability to groom to breed profile are required. Candidates must be comfortable working with dogs of different sizes and temperaments and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Part-time availability is available. Sunday through Tuesday availability is preferred.
