Staff Accountant/Junior Accountant
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with monthly close activities. This role will be responsible for preparing account reconciliations, recording accruals and expenses, reviewing AP coding, and assisting with revenue recognition and other accounting projects. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced corporate accounting environment.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with monthly close activities. This role will be responsible for preparing account reconciliations, recording accruals and expenses, reviewing AP coding, and assisting with revenue recognition and other accounting projects. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced corporate accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Review and approve accounts payable coding for accuracy.
- Record deferred revenue and assist with revenue recognition processes.
- Prepare journal entries to record monthly expenses as needed.
- Record recurring accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Record payroll-related entries including payroll accruals and 401(k) employer match.
- Record employee benefit expenses including health insurance and vacation accruals.
- Record workers’ compensation and general liability insurance expenses.
- Identify and correct coding errors in financial records.
- Assist with monthly closing activities
- Support special accounting projects and process improvements as needed.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 1 years of corporate accounting experience, general ledger accounting is preferred
- Experience preparing and posting journal entries and performing account reconciliations required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and present information clearly.
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Workday experience is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, management, and external partners.
